Algarve: 2 hrs by car from Lisbon, or fly into Faro which is the far east town in Algarve. Don’t spend time in Faro, use it as transit town.
– Go west from Faro on the coast to Albufeira (1 hr by car from Faro) or Lagos. Algarve cost is about 2.5 hrs from east to west. Position yourself somewhere in the middle of the coast line and explore east and west.
– Lagos: slightly bigger and more active then Albuferia, but Albufeira has a better night life. Best night life is not in the center of the town but 3-5 km outside. Don’t miss the best club Casa De Castelo. It is situated on top of the rocks and the white party in August is not t be missed. It takes place often in the first half of August. Go early, to avoid waiting in the long line for 2 hrs to get in 🙂
– More towns on the east of Albufeira. Vilamoura is the most active one, with also rental villas in addition to the hotels. Quinta do Lago is the next town and it is with luxury resort scene, with nice beach and good shopping.
– Vila Do Bispo: most Western point of Europe. Can be done in a day trip from Algarve.
